Trade names for certain pesticides are used throughout this document as an aid for the reader. For more information on the PAMS framework, see “Using PAMS Terminology,” page 48. Current management practices are presented using a Prevention, Avoidance, Monitoring, and Suppression (PAMS) framework to place practices within a simple IPM classification and to demonstrate areas where additional tools or practices may be needed. The remainder of the document is an analysis of management practices and critical needs organized by crop growth stage in an effort to assist the reader in understanding whole-season management practices. Within each major pest grouping (insects, diseases, and weeds), individual pests are presented in alphabetical order, not in order of importance. Each pest is then described briefly, with links provided for more information. The document begins with an overview of cherry production. This document also includes critical needs specific to crop stage. They also compiled a list of broader IPM needs based on work group input related to specific IPM topics. Members of the group voted on a list of top-priority critical needs. The result is a comprehensive strategic plan that highlights the current activities in IPM and pest-specific critical needs for the Oregon and Washington cherry industry. This plan lists major pests, current management practices, critical pest-management needs, activity timetables, and efficacy ratings of various management tools for specific pests in cherry production. It arose out of a January 2018 meeting of growers, commodity-group representatives, pest control advisors, processors, university specialists, and other technical experts in Oregon and Washington, who met for a day in The Dalles, Oregon, where they reached consensus on the strategies outlined here. This plan is part of a proactive effort to identify pest-management priorities and lay a foundation for future strategies and increased use of integrated pest management (IPM) in sweet cherry production. I'm curious if any of you PFers use some kind of software in the same way I use Quicken, and if so, which package do you use? What do you like (or not) about it? Any recommendations welcome - even if they're to say "your'e a dummy use, it has what you need.Process for This Integrated Pest Management Strategic Plan I did take a quick swing at MoneyDance, but it screwed up importing my Quicken file (duplicate accounts balances wrong etc.) so I ditched it quickly. When I've set up tools like PersonalCapital, they seem to really be focused on investments and past cashflow - not forward-looking transactions. I can see a running balance into the future with these planned transactions, telling at a glance where my balance is too high or low and take whatever action I think is appropriate. I can easily see what transactions haven't cleared, or where the downloaded transaction is a different amount than I had entered. Quicken's automatic download from my checking account then helps me reconcile what I planned vs. I enter upcoming checking account transactions (either as recurring, or manual one-time entries) when I schedule them, even if they're weeks or months in the future. I effectively use Quicken as a digital checkbook register. I've found many alternatives that are great for investment tracking, or viewing past cashflow, or analyzing historical transactions the problem I have is that this isn't how I use Quicken. I've been a user of Quicken, and before that MS Money, since about 2001. I'm looking for an alternative to Quicken, as they switch from a licensed-software to (overpriced) subscription service.
